The Presidio Neighborhood Photograph Collection contains images gathered by the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation
during research and activities conducted in support of the reconstruction of the Santa Barbara Presidio.
The collection contains a wide variety of image formats taken by many photographers over the course of than 150 years.
Biographical / Historical
Founded in 1963 by Dr. Pearl Chase and other concerned community leaders, Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation is
a the lead agency in the reconstruction and preservation of El Presidio de Santa Bárbara State Historic Park — Santa Barbara's
18th century birthplace — and Casa de la Guerra — the 1820s adobe home of Santa Barbara patriarch, José de la Guerra.
