Description
This collection consists of correspondence, news releases, clippings, lectures, photographs, and audio cassette tapes.
Background
Thomas C. Merigan is the George E. and Lucy Becker Professor of Medicine, Emeritus at the Stanford University. His practice at Stanford spanned 45 years and included many years as chair of the infectious disease division of the Department of Medicine. He helped introduce the use of human interferon into the United States as a treatment for viral diseases and helped develop anti-viral drugs to treat HIV/AIDS.
