Scope and content:

The Donna Ethington Collection contains materials related to Ethington’s role as editor of the Wilmington Community News (2001-2004), and her participation as a member of the Port of Los Angeles Community Advisory Committee (PCAC). The collection is arranged into two Series. Series I, Wilmington Community News (1994-2002) and Series II, Port of Los Angeles Community Advisory Committee (2003-2011). Series I, Wilmington Community News, consists of photographic prints and negatives for potential publication in the Wilmington Community News. These images document the activities of community organizations, local politics and infrastructure projects, community events, educational institutions and occupational centers, and important issues and concerns of residents. Some images may be available digitally. This series also includes ten print issues of the Wilmington Community News, which are available via the California Digital Newspaper Collection. Series I is arranged in chronological order. Series II, Port of Los Angeles Community Advisory Committee, contains official documents related to impacts of Port developments on the harbor area communities of Wilmington, Harbor City, and San Pedro. This series is arranged alphabetically by title and chronologically within.
