    Biography/Administrative History

    Agnes Marie Schenk (Aggie), (1928-2020), was born in Alton, Illinois and was a 55 year resident of Laguna Beach, CA. Schenk was a former Laguna Beach artist and Laguna College of Art & Design alumna.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    The collection documents Agnes Schenk's creative process compiled between 1985-1992. The Dennis and Leslie Power Library displays one of her paintings. Schenk remained connected to the LCAD community throughout her life. The scrapbooks contain images she used for inspiration, notes on color pallets, raw tube colors, and color mixes used for individual paintings. The majority of her notes are accompanied by photographs of the finished paintings.
