Description
Television writer and producer Leon Tokatyan penned the pilot for the television series Lou Grant. The collection consists of scripts, treatments, and research materials for various television series and unproduced film and television projects including Lou Grant, Double dare, Starman, and Hooperman.
Background
Television writer and producer Leon Tokatyan began his career as a tour guide for NBC in New York. He wrote the pilot episode for the award-winning TV series Lou Grant, as well as wrote and produced several more episodes of the series. Tokatyan wrote for earlier television programs such as as Espionage, Kraft Suspense Theater and The Virginian. He was the recipient of the Writers Guild of America award for best writing in 1978 for the Lou Grant episode titled Vet. Among his other awards were the Humanitas best writing achievement award. Leon Tokatyan died on May 13, 1997.
