Description
Correspondence of American Civil War Union soldier Daniel Horn, Jr.
Background
Daniel Horn, Jr., farmer of Fultonham Ohio, and private of Co. B of the 78th Ohio Infantry Regiment. The 78th was attached to the Army of the Tennessee and took part in battles of Fort Donelson and Shiloh, Grant's Central Mississippi campaign, Vicksburg campaign, and Atlanta campaign. Daniel Horn died of wounds, after his arm had been amputated, in Georgia in August 1864.
