    Title: Finding aid for the Travel poster collection
    Dates: 1920 to 1960
    Collection Number: SPEC-0001
    Creator/Collector: Origin of collection unknown.
    Extent: There are three large cabinets with five drawers each stacked on top of each other in the Rare Books Room stacks. These fifteen drawers contain the vast majority of the collection. There are a number of posters scattered throughout offices and hallways at Central Library.

    Abstract: The Travel Poster Collection consists of nearly 900 travel posters from around the world. The earliest dates to the end of the 19th century and the latest to the end of the 20th century, with the majority falling between 1920 and 1960. The posters hearken to the "Golden Age of Travel," with images of trains, planes and boats and documenting iconic travel destinations--mostly throughout Europe, but also through areas of Asia, the Pacific, Africa, North America and South America.
