    Abstract: Masayo Duus, born in Hokkaido in 1938, is a Japanese non-fiction writer. Her works focus on the history of Japanese Americans and relations between the United States and Japan. The Masayo Duus papers (1900-2003) include documents, photographs, correspondence, video, and interview sound recordings related to Masayo Duus's research on the Japanese Hawaii sugar strike of 1920 and on Isamu Noguchi.

    Biographical Note

    Born in Hokkaido in 1938; Japanese non-fiction writer whose works explore the history of Japanese Americans, relations between the United States and Japan, the labor movement in Hawaii, and the Japanese American artist, Isamu Noguchi.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    The Masayo Duus papers (1900-2003) include documents, photographs, correspondence, video and interview sound recordings related to Masayo Duus's research on Isamu Noguchi. Boxes 1-15 also include documents and photographs related to her research on the Japanese Hawaii sugar strike of 1920. The collection includes both Japanese and English materials.
