    Abstract: Bernard Zakheim (1898-1985) was an artist best known for murals he painted in Coit Tower and in Toland Hall at the University of California, San Francisco. His collection contains correspondece, research files, and published and unpublished artwork and writing.

    Collection contains correspondence, business records, writing, photographs, exhibition catalogs, ephemera, memoir drafts, clippings & periodicals, personal material and original art (drawings, watercolors, sketches, furniture designs, and prints).

    Biographical / Historical

    Born in Poland in 1898, artist Bernard Zakheim emigrated to San Francisco in 1920. Zakheim was best known for the murals he painted in Coit Tower and in Toland Hall at the University of California, San Francisco, He died in San Francisco in 1985.
