Historical Note
The Resource Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity (RCSGD) at UC Santa Barbara strives for the inclusion and representation
of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) students, staff, faculty, and community members.
The RCSGD uses intersectional and social justice to aim for trans justice, queer justice, racial justice and other forms of
justice by fighting against oppressive systems including white supremacy, heterosexism, misogyny, patriarchy and xenophobia.
Scope and Content
The collection contains various materials documenting the history of University of California, Santa Barbara, Resource Center
for Sexual & Gender Diversity. The collection is heavily composed of outreach resource documentation for students. These materials
include UC student resource information, research papers, and event and workshop documents. This collection also includes
posters, flyers, newspaper articles, student zines, and publications, as well as photographs, negatives, photograph albums,
and audiovisual material. The bulk of the materials range from 1995 to 2007.
