Description
This collection documents the history of University of California, Santa Barbara, Resource Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity (RCSGD) from 1986-2017. These materials include office files, newspaper articles and clippings, and student zines. The collection also contains Center advertising flyers and posters, event photographs, and audiovisual material.
Background
The Resource Center for Sexual & Gender Diversity (RCSGD) at UC Santa Barbara strives for the inclusion and representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) students, staff, faculty, and community members. The RCSGD uses intersectional and social justice to aim for trans justice, queer justice, racial justice and other forms of justice by fighting against oppressive systems including white supremacy, heterosexism, misogyny, patriarchy and xenophobia.
