This collection contains files of the public relations office of the University of Southern California Ostrow School of Dentistry. The files primarily consist of printed materials related to the history, activities, and work of the dental school and its faculty, students, and staff. Materials include announcements, articles, obituaries, biographical information, and memos. Some subject areas include international collaborations, facilities and building projects, faculty practice, the history of the school, strategic plans, retreats, policies, and budget planning.

Acquisition information:
Transferred from the Wilson Dental Library to Special Collections in September 2022.
Processing information:

The collection is partially processed with minimal folder-level description. Contact Special Collections for access to a detailed inventory of part of the collection created in 2017. The 2017 inventory includes a higher level of descriptive detail about parts of the collection. The collection became a University Archives collection in September 2022, though the Wilson Dental Library retained physical custody of the materials in filing cabinets until 2024. The collection was rehoused into boxes and physically transferred to Special Collections storage in November 2024. The finding aid's file-level records include each file's former drawer number from the Wilson Dental Library's previous physical arrangement of the collection.

Diann Benti authored the collection-level description for this finding aid in 2022. In 2024, Hannah Schilperoort, Head of the Wilson Dental Library; Olivia Carreon, Library Supervisor for the Wilson Dental Library; Jessica Gambling, University Archivist and Records Manager; and Bo Doub, Accessioning Archivist, coordinated a project to rehouse the collection and publish folder descriptions in the finding aid. The majority of the 2024 rehousing and descriptive work was carried out by a team of student employees at the Wilson Dental Library: Adolfo Lopez, Carol Silaghi, Jieen Chen, and Noah MacDonald.
