Description
Flyers, photographs, manuscripts, banners, and other papers, 1979-1994, from bisexual activist John Soroczak. Soroczak and Dr. Marvin Colter co-founded the Arete Bisexual Center of Southern California in 1979.
Background
John J. Soroczak is a licensed psychotherapist and a massage therapist with a focus on bisexuality, relationships, touch, and intimacy. Along with Dr. Marvin Colter, Soroczak co-founded the Arete Bisexual Center of Southern California in 1979. As a psychotherapist in private practice, he created what he called "Heart to Heart Touch Workshops," and facilitated bisexual rap groups and workshops at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center in the 1990s. He also served on the board of directors of the Bisexual Network of Los Angeles.
