Wilfredo R. Lopez is longtime leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Lopez was born on April 15, 1946, in Chillan, Chile to Rene and Olga Barces Lopez and was baptized in July 1968 in Talca, Chile. He later married Patricia Angelica Palavecino Rojas, with whom he raised seven children. Throughout his life, Lopez has held various significant callings within the LDS Church, including President of Young Men, Mission Leader of the Independencia Ward in Santiago, Chile, President of the Quorum of the Seventy in the Chile Santiago Stake, Bishop, Providence Stake Counselor, Stake President, Regional Representative, President of the Argentina Resistencia Mission (1990-1993), and Patriarch. Additionally, he has served as liaison to many General Authorities from Salt Lake City, Utah
