Included are program notes, correspondence, curatorial research, audience evaluations and administrative files for the Art in Cinema film series produced by Frank Stauffacher and the San Francisco Museum of Art between 1946 and 1955. In addition documentation related to the Art in Cinema catalogue, including correspondence, publicity and portions of the manuscript are included. This series also contains numerous film catalogues, program and price lists dated from the 1940s and 1950s.

Included is an ink sketch by John & James Whitney along with instructions for inclusion of a film strip. References Miss (Aline) Barnsdall who evicts the Whitneys from their studio (Hollyhock House) and the "Baroness" who may pull funding for their work. Also mentions Douglas MacAgy and Frankenstein along with Series Two film exhibition
