This collection consists of the papers of Jeanne O'Connor Graffy (1925-2017) of Santa Barbara, California, documenting her activities as a member of the Santa Barbara Planning Commission from 1972 to 1979, Santa Barbara City Council from 1979 to 1991, and the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors from 1994 to 1999 along with biographical materials ranging from 1949 to 2017.

Scope and content:

The collection consists of the papers of Jeanne O'Connor Graffy, who served as a member of the Santa Barbara Planning Commission, Santa Barbara City Council, and the Santa Barbara Board of Supervisors. Materials date from 1949 to 2017.

Materials within these papers include files pertaining to the issues of the day in Santa Barbara County and the City of Santa Barbara such as building, land use and development, landmarks, retail and economic growth, and infrastructure. Also included are materials related to ballot measures, as well as meeting agendas, correspondence, and notes generated in the course of Jeanne Graffy's activities in office. Some biographical materials are included such as resumes, photographs, community work, planners, notebooks, obituaries and scrapbooks, all of which are located in box 15.
