This collection contains the transcripts of a series of conversations that took place between Michelle Johnston and four other women through the Prodigy internet service provider between 1991 and 1992. Johnston documented and donated this collection of transcripts to the June L. Mazer Archives in order to insure the voices of "ordinary dykes" were included in the archives. As such these are ordinary conversations between women living in California, some of them lesbians who were out, and some who were not.

This collection contains the transcripts of a series of conversations that took place between Michelle Johnston and four other women through the Prodigy internet service provider between 1991 and 1992.

Biographical / historical:

Michelle Johnston documented and donated this collection of transcripts to the Mazer Archives in order to ensure the voices of "ordinary dykes" were included in the archives. As such these are ordinary conversations between women living in California, some of them lesbians who were out, and some who were not. All conversations took place online and none of the correspondents knew one another in any other context.

This collection is part of an outreach and collection-building partnership between the June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives , the UCLA Center for the Study of Women (CSW) , and the UCLA Library .
