Description
A collection of family correspondence written to Leonard G. Redfield, California emigrant and miner.
Background
Leonard G. Redfield, California emigrant and miner; in 1853 he journeyed overland from Jefferson County, New York. He lived in San Jose, California, where his relatives, including cousins Aldin E. Moody, Charles Moody, and Volney D. Moody, had settled. Redfield also engaged in mining at Moore's Flat, Nevada County, California.
