The records document his student work, conference presentations, and his work for the County of Los Angeles, including on the AIDS Regional Board of Los Angeles County's Mental Health Task Force from 1991-1994, at the Department of Mental Health from 1987-1996, and at the Department of Health Services' Office of AIDS Programs and Policy from 1996-1998.

Biographical / historical:

Bryan Mershon received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Fuller Theological Seminary in 1986. He joined Los Angeles County's Department of Mental Health in 1987 and by 1992 was the Acting Program Head for Program Planning and Development in the Adult Services Bureau. In the early-to-mid-1990s, Mershon chaired the Pacific Center for HIV/AIDS Counseling and Psychotherapy Services Advisory Committee. By 1996, he had earned certification as an American Psychological Association HIV Office for Psychology Education (HOPE) trainer, and later that year, became the Mental Health, Quality Assurance and Technical Assistance Services Coordinator with the Office of AIDS Programs and Policy. In 1998, he moved to the Bureau of Standards, Practices and Conduct and in 2001 to the Child, Youth and Family Services Administration. As of 2013, Mershon was serving as Acting Deputy Director of the Children's System of Care at the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health.
