    Scope and Content of Collection

    This photograph journal documents the trip of San Francisco native Bill McMillan from Seattle to Alaska aboard the steam ship "SS Alaska" from April 20-April 26, 1916. There are a number of photographs showing the construction of "Government Railroad" which later became the Alaska Railroad. [Album 84]
