    Biographical / Historical

    Sandra Kay Martz founded Papier-Mache Press in 1984. The Press was known for its politically and socially conscious publications about the experiences of women, such as the anthology When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple(1987), which sold over 1.6 million copies. By 1998, Papier-Mache Press had published over sixty titles. Martz sold the Press in 2000.

    This collection includes publication and business records of Papier Mache Press, including editorial, production, sales, and marketing files, as well as manuscripts.
