Abstract: Janet Lubeski (1933 May 12-2008 June 26) was a lesbian writer; nurse; anti-ageism, peace, and environmental activist; and
member of Old Lesbians Organizing for Change (OLOC) and Gay and Lesbian Outreach to Elders/New Leaf Outreach to Elders. The
collection was likely assembled by the donor and Lubeski’s friend, Ida VSW Red, and includes photocopies of Lubeski’s journals
and unpublished writings from the 1970s-2000s; a small cache of original 1970s letters and journal entries; a 2001 oral history
recording (two audio cassettes); tributes, cards, and other materials created in the wake of Lubeski’s death; a recording
of the 2008 celebration of Lubeski’s life at the LGBT Center in San Francisco; t-shirts related elder and LGBT rights; an
published poetry by Lubeski’s friends and family, including Lori Lubeski, one of Janet Lubeski’s children.
