    Abstract: Scott Case is a descendant of early Orange County settlers (Case and Thurston families) who homesteaded and farmed in the Laguna Beach area beginning in 1871. He became interested in Laguna Beach history in the 1970s and he was mentored by Merle and Mabel Ramsey, authors of several books on Laguna Beach history. He was also active in the Laguna Beach Historical Society. The collection comprises research files, correspondence, and ephemera. The collection includes decades of material that were gifted to Case as part of the Ramsey estate. Topics covered include Orange County homesteading, the history of Laguna Beach art and the Pageant of the Masters, and early settler correspondence.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    Scott Case is a descendant of early Orange County settlers (Case and Thurston families) who homesteaded and farmed in the Laguna Beach area beginning in 1871.
