Vernor Vinge. The correspondence mostly concerns other authors and publishers sending Vinge their works for his review or
comments.
Background
Vernor Steffen Vinge was born on October 2, 1944 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He is an American science fiction author, who previously
taught mathematics and computer science at San Diego State University. He retired from being an educator at San Diego State
in 2000.
Vinge was awarded the Hugo Award for many of his novels and novellas, such as A Fire Upon the Deep (1992) and Fast Times at Fairmont High (2002). He is recognized for his hard-science approach to his novels, as well as his imaginative work of Internet fiction.
