Description
Collection consists of drafts and typescripts of essays and poems of Spiro and other contemporary writers, as well as translations, published works and reprints, periodicals, newspapers, correspondence, posters, and broadsheets. There are some materials in French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Background
Leon Spiro was born on December 5, 1912; became a poet, contributing to over 600 periodicals with translations in nine languages; became Director of Star West Publications; he is the author of Cobwebs from California (1973), Sea Webs from California (1976), and Passport (1978).
