    Biography/Administrative History

    Professor Leah Hoffmitz Milken (b. 1952, d. 2014) was a well-known typographer, letterform designer, and esteemed faculty member at ArtCenter. The HMCT was founded in her memory, and her collection forms the core of the HMCT Archives.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    The collection is arranged into three series: Teaching; Design Work; and Personal. Items in the collection are predominantly visual and include sketches of letterforms and typefaces; printing proofs; posters; photographs; and a small collection of student work on CDs. There is relatively little correspondence or original writings.
