Biographical / Historical
Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron of Lytton (1803-1873) was an English
statesman, novelist and poet. His wife, Rosina Doyle Wheeler Bulwer-Lytton, Baroness Lytton,
(1802-1882), was an English novelist.
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of letters and the manuscript of "Godolphin." The letters are
mainly written by and addressed to Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, Baron Lytton,
and his wife, Rosina Bulwer-Lytton, Baroness Lytton.
Processing Information
Processed by Huntington Library Staff, 1920-1975; in November 2023, Gayle M. Richardson
created the finding aid. The Edward Bulwer-Lytton letters and manuscript were assembled at
the Library as the Bulwer-Lytton File from various purchases and gifts from 1916 to
1975.
