Biography
Grant Edward Dahlstrom, 1902-1980, was born in Idaho and learned lettering and printing from Porter Garnett at the Carnegie
Institute of Technology. He settled in Los Angeles and took a job with Young & McCallister, where he did book design work
and binding. In 1943, he bought the Castle Press in Pasadena, and for the next thirty-seven years produced many handsome books
for the Book Club of California, the Huntington Library, The Sacramento Book Collectors Club, Dawson's Book Shop, Jake Zeitlin,
and many others. In 1931, he helped to found the Rounce & Coffin Club and was also active in the Zamorano Club, printing the
Club's newsletter, Hoja Volante, beginning in 1934. He was still active in his business at the time of his death in 1980.

Seven file folders containing: Book Fragments, Castle Press Promotional, Calendars, Club Printing, Greeting Cards, Prospectuses,
and Trade Printing.
