Description
This collection consists of television production materials, scripts, correspondence, financial records, press, photographs,
personal papers, and books belonging to American television producer Hunt Stromberg Jr. (1923-1986). Much of the collection
reflects Stromberg's work as program director for KABC-TV in the 1950s, as a network programming executive for CBS in the
early 1960s, and afterwards as an independent producer.
Background
Hunt Stromberg Jr. (1923-1986) was an American television, and Broadway producer known for his work on The Vampira Show (1954-1955), The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971), Gilligan's Island (1964-1967), and Lost in Space (1965-1968). He was the son of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and independent producer Hunt Stromberg.
