Abstract: The collection consists of materials related to the Ritchie family of Riverside County, California, most notably Dr. Iner
Sheld Ritchie and his son Dr. Iner William Sheld Ritchie. The Ritchies were well known for their philanthropic work in Mexico,
most notably through the organization Liga International, founded by the elder Ritchie in 1934. Liga, also known as The Flying
Doctors of Mercy, provides medical, dental, and eye care to rural clinics in Southern Mexico. Items in the collection include
articles, correspondence, and photographs.
