Background
- Scope and content:
-
This collection consists of three environmental impact reports and analyses, prepared for the Cities of Richmond and Pittsburg in the 1990s, on three proposed projects. One is an environmental impact report on the Clark Road Residential Project, which was a proposal to build 204 homes on 50 acres of land in Richmond (1999). The developer gave up on the plan due to local opposition and the homes were not built. The collection also includes a geotechnical and slope stability analysis for the proposed Keller Canyon Landfill in Pittsburg (1992), which was built and is operational. The third is an environmental impact report on a proposal by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to build a new 46,000-square-foot laboratory building on the grounds of UC Berkeleyโs Richmond Field Station research site (1991). This project also was built and is operational, providing sample analysis for water and soil contamination, animal and plant tissue, dust, and sediment.
