Biographical Note
Sergio d'Angelo is a former Italian journalist and acquaintance of Boris Pasternak. He worked as an editor and reporter for
Radio Moscow from 1956-1957. On May 20, 1956, after meeting with Pasternak, d'Angelo was given the manuscript for
Doctor Zhivago, which was later given to the Italian publisher Feltrinelli for publication.
In the late 1960s, d'Angelo was involved in legal battles regarding royalties from the novel. He also published a memoir about
his role in the publication of
Doctor Zhivago in 2006, entitled,
Il Caso Pasternak or
The Pasternak Case: Memoirs of a Witness.
