    Abstract: The Miguel L. Talleda papers consist of correspondence, essays, photographs, research files, collected publications, and other material collected and/or created by Miguel Luis Talleda (1919-2017). Talleda was born in Cruces, Las Villas, Cuba on June 14, 1919. In 1962, Talleda arrived in the United States as a political refugee with his family. Talleda authored the book Alpha 66 y su Histórica Tarea on the anti-communist organization, Alpha 66, formed by Cuban exiles in the United States. The Miguel L. Talleda papers include a significant amount of documentation on Alpha 66 activities and members, including correspondence between Alpha 66 members, Talleda's research on the history of Alpha 66, material from Alpha 66 events in California, Alpha 66 newsletters, and articles featuring news on Alpha 66. Other anti-communist and anti-Castro groups are also documented in the collection, including El Segundo Frente Nacional del Escambray (SFNE), El Movimiento Revolucionario del Pueblo (MRP), World Anti-Communist League (WACL), and La Confederación Anticomunista Latinoamericana (CAL). The collection also holds Talleda's published writings, along with the newspapers, magazines, and other publications that Talleda collected from Cuba, the United States, and elsewhere. Lastly, the Talleda papers contain photograph albums, realia, posters, and DVDs documenting Alpha 66-related activities and other events that Talleda attended.
