Scope and Contents note

This series includes materials relating to the architecture of the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library and William Andrews Clark's Mausoleum. Also included is a scrapbook created around 1877. Included are photographs and pictorial negatives, ephemera, and correspondence.

William Andrews Clark Memorial Library 1924-1926

Scope and Contents note

Two boxes of photographs and negatives detail the construction, interior, and exterior of the Clark Library building. Also included are letters sent between Clark and Farquhar as well as photographic negatives from some of Farquhar's other building projects.

William Andrews Clark Jr.'s Mausoleum 1920-1930

Scope and Contents Note

Included are prints and negatives of the mausoleum (located in Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles) and its mosaics, materials relating to Clark's funeral, and Clark's obituary.

Scrapbook circa 1877

Scope and Contents Note

This scrapbook inlcudes ephemera and photographs from a journey to Europe, possibly by Farquhar or by a member of the Clark family. Cities included are: Turin, Milan, Florence, Rome, Naples, Venice, Paris, Stratford-upon-Avon, Windsor, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Liverpool, Glasgow, Warwick, London (including the Crystal Palace), Edinburgh, Stirling, Abbotsford, Melrose, Aberdeen, and Balmoral which are memorialized through photographs, postcards, and handwritten quotes. Some of the photographs appear to date from 1877.

Scope and Contents note

This series includes two scrapbooks with photographs from Farquhar's architectural projects and his travels in Italy with the Red Cross. Also included are photographic negatives and prints from the Panama-Pacific International Exhibition and Farquhar's personal papers, photographs, and printed ephemera.

Scope and Contents Note

Included are many photographs and negatives of the Festival Hall, designed by Farquhar. Also included are printed ephemera including newspaper clippings, Exposition Souvenier Booklet, Exposition Fact Pamphlet, and Women's Board Pamphlets.

The scrapbooks in Boxes 9-11 contain a mix of professional projects, personal photographs and images of famous buildings and artworks, presumably used as visual references. Projects included are the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, California Club, Stevens House, Thomas Eton House, Beverly Hills High School, Festival Hall, R.A. Rowan Residence, and Clark Building, University of Nevada Reno. Others may be included as well.
