Content Note

The original manuscript is held by the Spanish Botanical Gardens in Madrid. This is a circa 1888 copy made from the original for the Mexican government.From this copy was made the first printed edition of the work (as a contribution to the Chicago International Exposition in 1893). Bound with this copy is a file of original eighteenth-century (1790-1801) documents signed by Revillagigedo, Branciforte, Mozino and others on litigation between Mociño and his wife, Maria Rita Rivera Melo.
