The bulk of the collection is comprised of business cards of Hills' associates, and with additional materials including staff meeting notes, documentation on marketing strategies, and technical reports on semiconductors.

Robert Hills worked in various sales and marketing positions in the semiconductor equipment business in Silicon Valley beginning in 1967. His employers over the years include Materials Research Corporation, Mattson Technology, Lam Research, Ultratech, and Kasper Instruments.
