Scope and content:

This collection consists of two scrapbooks belonging to Laura Burmeister, a student at the USC Preparatory School and the University of Southern California. These scrapbooks include ephemera, photographs, journal entries, the school moto and class song for USC Prep, programs, invitations, clippings, cut pieces of cloth from gowns, and a directory.

Biographical / historical:

Laura Burmeister was a student at the University of Southern California Preparatory School, graduating in 1908. She went on to get a Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California, graduating in 1912. Burmeister became a cataloger at the Los Angeles Public Library before joining the USC library staff in 1922.
