Scope and content:

This collection consists of 1 box with 25 folders, and 1 oversized box containing architectural specifications and blueprints. Majority of the collection are materials from the UC Berkeley Masonic Club House. A history and description of the Masonic Club Houses is included detailing the initial laying of the cornerstone of the UC Berkeley Masonic Club House in 1923 to the closure of both Masonic Club Houses in 1968. The following are included in this collection: • Two folders of photographs of the Masonic Club Houses at University of California, Berkeley. • 26 issues of the “UC Masonic Councillor” between 1926-1930. • Organizational documents such as the Articles of Incorporation of the Masonic Club House of the University of California (1921-1923), By-Laws of the Masonic Club of the University of California (1923), and the UCLA Charter (1930). • Printed Materials including pamphlets, financial records, letterheads, envelopes, flyers, playbills, invitations, and business cards. • “University of California Bulletin, Third Series, Vol. XVI, No. 1. Announcement of Courses 1922-23 in the Departments at Berkeley, July 1922.” • “University of California, Officers and Students, February 1923.” • Membership rosters from 1922-1924. • 189 pages of the Masonic Club House General Report from 1919-1939 which details history, councils, general activities, club constitutions, customs and regulations, financial information, event information, membership, and more. • Reports on activities at the Masonic Club at UC Berkeley from 1963-1967. • Newspaper clippings from 1922-1924. • Meeting minutes from the Masonic Club House at UC Berkeley from 1920-1957. • Various correspondences, 1924, 1937-1938, and 1963-1967. • Oversized box containing specifications for alterations and blueprints for The Masonic Club House of the University of California, Berkeley, 1949-1954.
