The Richard M. Clayberg Slide Collection was donated to the Department of Architecture and the Architecture Slide Library
in 1987 by the Estate of Richard M. Clayberg.
Biography/Administrative History
Richard M. Clayberg, AIA, (d 1986) graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley where he served as
president of the Architecture Students Association. He partnered with Richard Peters to form the firm Peters & Clayberg in
1967 which became Peters, Clayberg & Caulfield in 1975. Clayberg had the good fortune to travel the world with a special interest
in Japan, Cambodia, India, the Arab Middle East, and Greece.
Scope and Content of Collection
The Richard M. Clayberg Slide Collection spans the years 1965-1970 and depicts buildings and places in Egypt, Hong Kong, Taiwan,
Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Istanbul, Syria, Jordan, France, and Spain.
