    Collection Scope and Contents

    This collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts, and press clippings pertaining to Vicki Hearne, an American author, philosopher, and scholar of literary criticism and linguistics. There are 9 drafts of her book of poetry In the Absence of Horses (originally titled Nervous Horses), which discusses themes of love while utilizing imagery of nature. The collection also includes reviews of her work found in newspapers and magazines, and her letters discussing changes to college course curriculum to demonstrate her work on animals and their cognitive abilities.
