    Abstract: This collection pertains to Ventura Counsel No. 99 of the Sociedade Portuguesa Rainha Santa Isabel (S.P.R.S.I.). The society was a non-profit charitable and social sorority whose members are of Portuguese lineage and was active in Ventura County. The collection consists of the society's papers and several ledgers.
    Physical Location: Stored at the MVC Research Library and off-site storage. All requests to access special collections can be made in advance by emailing the Research Library reference desk. Advance notice required for timely retrieval of off-site materials. Please contact the Research Library reference desk prior to your visit.

    Scope and Content Note

    The collection consists of a ceremonial crown and robe, as well as the society's papers. The papers include a club constitution, meeting minutes, financial records, correspondence, membership rolls, and other papers related to the organization. The society's ceremonial crown and robe are maintained by the collections department of the Museum.

    Bibliography

    This collection was donated by the Ventura Counsel No. 99 of the Sociedade Portuguesa Rainha Santa Isabel (S.P.R.S.I.). The society was a non-profit charitable and social sorority whose members are of Portuguese lineage, and was active in Ventura County, particularly in Oxnard, Moorpark, Somis, and Saticoy.
