Scope and content:

The Lesbian/Gay Freedom Day Committee (L/GFDC) records cover the years 1979 to 1987. The Gay Freedom Day Committee was responsible for organizing and conducting the annual Gay Freedom Day Parade in San Francisco from 1973 to 1980 and the L/GFDC was responsible for organizing the celebration from 1981-1994. The collection includes by-laws, correspondence, financial records, legal documents, meeting agendas and minutes, membership lists, booth applications, march line ups, flyers, newspaper clippings, subject files and materials related to the merger between the between the Gay Freedom Day Parade Committee and the Lesbian/Gay Parade Committee to form the L/GFDC.
