Covers date back to 1845 with the bulk 1880-1960. Covers include commemoratives; U.S. military and World War I soldier mail; first-day covers; unused Civil War covers; George Washington Bicentennial (1932); ship cancellations (1930-1960); California Historical Series (1969-70); stage coach commemoratives (1930s-1940s); aviation and airmail (1928-1970); Charles Lindbergh (1928); Wiley Post and Will Rogers (1931-1935); railroad including the San Francisco Bay Area BART opening (1938-1973); Philippines covers (20th century).
