    Biographical / Historical

    Staff Sargent Norton Amos Gillespie was born in Compton, California. He attended Compton Union High School. He joined the Army Air Corps in December 1942 and reported for duty on January 5, 1943.He was a member of the 359th Bombardment Squadron. His was an engineer and worked on the B17G #42-31830 Marie. He also was part of the 303rd BG (H) Combat Mission Number 224.
