Four audiotapes with recorded oral history interviews with Claude Coyne. Interviewer listed as "DER" - David E. Russell. Arrangement credited to Paul Williams.

Biographical / historical:

Claude Harold Coyne (1913-1983) was a Los Angeles-based architect who worked on the design of private homes and large-scale public buildings.

Coyne worked under Paul R. Williams and Associates. He joined Williams's firm in 1945, was a junior partner by 1962, a full partner by 1970, and took over William's outstanding projects after his retirement in 1975. Coyne worked on several notable Paul Williams projects, including St. Jude Childrens Hospital in Memphis and Pritzker Hall (formerly, Franz Tower) at UC Los Angeles.
