Description
This collection of Vietnamese American new wave and pop music cassettes was created by Trangdài Trầnguyễn, a poet and scholar
of the Vietnamese diaspora. She has conducted oral history interviews and multi-sited ethnographies on the Vietnamese diasporas
in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Asia for over 26 years. She holds an M.A. in History from CSU Fullerton, an M.A. in Anthropology
from Stanford University, and an M.A. in Southeast Asian Studies from UC Riverside. This collection contains 66 Vietnamese
American new wave pop music cassettes. A sampling of the musicians featured in the collection include: Tuấn Vũ, Elvis Phương,
Randy, Mỹ Huyền, Hương Lan, and Giao Linh. Musicians are represented by Làng Văn, Giáng Ngọc, and Người đẹp Bình Dương, among
other production companies.
