Scope and Content of Collection
A selection of works by the photographer Eric Blau. The bulk of the collection consists of black and white silver gelatin
prints; additional materials include polylith prints and a small series of color and multimedia works. All prints are mounted
in white mats and most are approximately 8x10 inches in size, unless otherwise noted. Materials are arranged by format and
theme, with additional miscellaneous prints arranged in chronological subseries.
Arranged in five series: 1) B&W SILVER GELATIN PRINTS, 2) POLYLITH PRINTS, 3) COLOR TRANSFER PRINTS, 4) COMMON HEROES, 5)
ALONE TOGETHER.
The son of a professional photographer/photo engraver, Eric Blau grew up with photography and has been photographing since
childhood. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Blau (also a medical
doctor) has been a Polaroid Grant Artist for many years, and has had the opportunity to photograph around the world. Blau
resides in San Diego, California.
