Scope and content:

Records of the Santa Barbara County Vintners Association, documenting the Association's promotion of the wine and grape industry and wine tourism in Santa Barbara County, as well as its organization and promotion of harvest festivals and wine tastings. Files in the collection date from 1984 to 2018.

Materials include board of directors agendas and minutes, Association bylaws, mission statements, correspondence, Vintners Festival materials, marketing plans, winery files, administrative and legal files, budgets, planning documents, maps, and promotional materials. Files also include material on the wine industry such as the economic impact of the wine and grape industry in Santa Barbara County, and beyond.

These records also include videocassettes (documentary and promotional) on the Santa Barbara County wine country, as well as the work of the Association.

Graphic items comprise Santa Barbara Vintners Harvest Festival posters from 1994-2012.

Biographical / historical:

Founded in 1983, the Santa Barbara County Vintners Association includes vineyards, wineries, vineyard management, and wine industry hospitality associates among its members. Describing itself as an advocate for the Santa Barbara County wine and grape industry, the Association engages in wine and grape industry education, media outreach, tastings, wine country weekends, as well as the organization and promotion of the annual Santa Barbara Vinters Festival.
