Scope and content:: William Barber (1946-1992) was a gay poet, writer, and author of a series of gay pornographic novels, written under the name Billy Farout during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The manuscript is an anthology of poetry and novel excerpts, entitled “The ‘Hi Mom!’ Collection,” compiled by Barber for his friend Michael Miller’s 35th birthday. The title page includes a handwritten dedication to Miller. The manuscript was gifted to the GLBT Historical Society by Wylie Wong, in memory of Michael Miller.
