    Scope and Content

    One album of 23 photographs of varying sizes, including both snapshots and professional stock images, many with captions, compiled by Private C. Wenn, no. 5680560 A.C.C. H.Q. Coy (Allied Control Commission for Italy, Headquarters Company) of the Central Mediterranean Force. Photographs date to between 1940-1945 and include images of the corpses of Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini and his mistress Clara Petacci, along with other fascists, hanged for public display in Piazzale Loreto, Milan, 1945.
    Also included are photographs of German soldiers in France performing military exercises in 1940, as well as official French World War II press agency (L.A.P.I.) images of battle scenes in Paris, the French Communist Party establishing a presence in the capitol, and captured German soldiers during the liberation of Paris.
    In addition, the album contains photographs depicting the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders practicing bagpipes in barracks in Milan.
